CARDINAL - With the end of the 2019-20 National Capital Junior Hockey League (NCJHL) regular season in sight, having clinched first place in the league, and with only three games remaining before the start of the playoffs, the South Grenville Rangers are showing no sign of slowing down.

The Rangers found victory in both outings this past weekend, shutting out the Bytown Royals 4-0 in Cardinal on Saturday night before heading to Chesterville on Sunday to outscore rival North Dundas Rockets by a count of 6-2.

Sam Limoges-Ring backstopped the Rangers to his second shutout of the season at the Ingredion Centre on Saturday. Braydan Forestall led the way with a pair of goals for South Grenville. Dylan Sharpley and Owen Webster also scored.

Xavier Dusablon got the win between the pipes on Sunday in Chesterville. The Rangers opened the scoring with two goals in the first period and never looked back. Webster had a two-goal outing, with Sharpley, Jordan Poulin, Mark Mckay and Cooper Kingston each contributing singles to the 6-2 final.

South Grenville returns to action when the Vankleek Hill Cougars visit Cardinal on Saturday night in a battle of the league's top two squads.. The Rangers will then be heading back to Chesterville for a rematch against the Rockets on Sunday afternoon.

Puck drop at the Ingredion Centre on Saturday is 8:10 p.m.
